Stepped Care Model for Service:The referrals for the counselling program are open to the community to be submitted by telephone, email, or fax, and the client will be contacted for an intake session as soon as possible. Counsellors then facilitate an intake session, which will then give them the information they need to make recommendations for the most therapeutically beneficial next steps for the client and their family. Those next steps may include group, individual, and/or family therapy.
Family Counselling Program: Provides long term counselling up to 12 sessions for children or youth under 19 with a range of family issues. Referrals may come from any source.
Sexual Abuse Intervention Program (SAIP): Provides long-term counselling up to 24 sessions for children or youth under 19 who have experienced historical sexual abuse, with clear disclosure that has been investigated. Referrals may come from any source.
Sexual Health Intervention Program (SHIP): Provides long term counselling up to 12 sessions for children 12 years of age and under exhibiting sexually intrusive behaviour. Referrals may come from any source.
High-Risk Youth Program (HRYP): Provides long term counselling up to 12 sessions for at-risk youth under 19. There is no waitlist for this program. Referrals must come through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
Trauma Program: Provides long term counselling up to 12 sessions for children or youth under 19 who have experienced trauma. Referrals must come through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
Child and Youth Mental Health Program (C&Y): Provides long term counselling up to 12 sessions for children or youth under 19 exhibiting mental health issues. Referrals must come through the Ministry of Children and Family Development’s Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Program.
Brief Family Program: Provides short term counselling up to 8 sessions for children or youth under 19 with families experiencing a situational crisis. There is no waitlist for this program. Referrals must come through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
Brief Sexual Abuse Counselling Program: Provides short-term counselling up to 8 sessions for children or youth with a recent sexual abuse disclosure being investigated by the Ministry of Children and Family Development and/or police. There is no waitlist for this program. Referrals may come from any source.
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Fridays 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Referral: Some programs require a referral through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD)
