Acquired Brain Injury Services

Provides a natural home environment where supported individuals have access to assistance and guidance whenever possible that builds self-confidence and promotes personal growth.
The Acquired Brain Injury program makes efforts to ensure all interactions are person-centred and dedicated to encouraging personal choice and direction.

The program works from a holistic perspective ensuring the development of strategies that are inclusive and considerate of all areas of each person's life, i.e. individual health, education, vocation, community involvement, and spirituality/religion. Supported individuals are encouraged to build connections such as personal networks to build/enhance social skills development and interpersonal skills.

The program outline consists of:
  • Social Rehabilitation, aimed at increasing language and communication skills
  • Recreation/leisure Rehabilitation, aimed at increasing overall health by focusing on fitness, nutrition and wellness/wellbeing
  • Educational (cognitive) Rehabilitation, aimed at empowering individuals to gain more knowledge for further education or occupations
  • Volunteer Placement Program/Vocational Rehabilitation, placing individuals within the community to aid in a sense of belonging and value/purpose
  • Life Skills Program, focusing on daily living skills allowing for the highest independence in an individuals own life
Required contribution fee of $200.00 annually to cover the cost of meals provided by the Day program. If financial assistance is required, payment arrangements can be made with the Program Coordinator.
