Youth Programs - For Youth Living with Mental Illness or Addictions

Helping families reduce the intensity of conflict, identify and address the issues as they explore solutions. Support for children and youth facing substance use and/or mental illness, and their parents.
Youth & Family Conflict Intervention Program:
Helps families reduce the intensity of conflict, identify and address the issues, and support both the youth and parents as they explore solutions. Parents and/or youth meet weekly with program staff (more frequently if the conflict is severe) up to a maximum of eight sessions. Additional sessions can be sometimes be arranged under certain circumstances. For families living in Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows, experiencing parent/youth conflict with youth between the ages of 12 and 19.

Youth Restorative Justice:
Restorative Justice is an approach to achieving justice by engaging those involved in criminal, non-criminal, interpersonal conflict or disputes in an inclusive and meaningful way. This approach brings healing to parties by creating an environment for conversation about harm, impact, accountability, and reparation of harm. Restorative Justice seeks to support all parties through a philosophy of engaging, empowering, supporting and restoring. It provides opportunities for youth to participate in its education, prevention, and mentorship programs.

The program also offers:
  • The Mentorship program involves the community in a supportive role to youth. Adult mentors provide encouragement, support, and guidance to youth while assisting youth in completing their YRJ agreement. Mentors are volunteers who practice and encourage the values of acceptance, equality, integrity, inclusivity, empathy, and social justice.
  • The Choices Program is a 7-week program that utilizes experiential learning together with the curriculum.
  • The Effects of Shoplifting program is a one-to-one program that uses a comprehensive workbook that includes relevant research and statistics pertaining to theft from retailers.

Foundry Ridge Meadows:
Foundry Ridge Meadows is dedicated to supporting youth / young people and caregivers facing substance use and mental health challenges. Foundry Ridge Meadows helps young people 12-24 and their caregivers access mental health and substance use support, physical/sexual health, peer support, and social services. Foundry makes it easy for young people and their families to find the care, connection and support they seek. If you are a youth living with substance use or mental health challenges, this is a safe and informative place to seek help with tough topics.
