An adult learning centre for individuals recovering from addiction.
A unique community-based adult learning program delivered by Kwantlen Polytechnic University is an essential component of our integrated services model designed to end the cycle of addiction and homelessness.
The Phoenix Kwantlen Learning Centre empowers adult learners to re-enter the educational arena and the labour market through individualized assessment and action planning that include lifelong learning goals. The centre provides community-based instruction from basic literacy levels through Grade 11.
It also helps adult learners move on to Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s campus or to other formal educational settings.
Services Include:
- Assessing and upgrading English, Math, and study skills
- Assisting with GED or ABE completion
- Offering academic upgrading or preparation for further post-secondary programs, apprenticeship or trades training programs
- Strengthening participants’ career action plans and applications for funded training programs that improve their employability
- Improving literacy and numeracy for jobs or further training
