Provides friendly visits and hot meal deliveries to seniors in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
The Meals on Wheels program provides the opportunity for individuals to live independently with self-reliance in their own homes by delivering well-balanced meals and regular human contact. Meals on Wheels delivers a healthy three-course meal or soup and sandwich with a beverage on a daily or weekly basis. The number of meals delivered is flexible and frozen meals for the weekend can be provided.
In addition to providing a hot meal, volunteers also offer the comfort of a friendly visit and the reassurance of an informal check on the safety and well-being of meal recipients. Meals are prepared at the Ridge Meadows Seniors Centre.
