Family and Parent Support Groups and Program

Free ongoing parenting support groups for various needs such as single parenting, young parenting and others.
Young parents support group: An ongoing support group for young parents up to the age of 26 years old. Group meets weekly on Wednesday afternoons from September to June, with a light meal provided. Play focused programming for children 0-6 is available for this program

Parenting young children support group: This is a group for parents of children ages 0-6 to meet weekly on Thursday mornings to support and learn from each other. Childminding is available. Group runs from September to the end of June.

Great Dads Group: This group is for fathers of children aged 0-6 to meet weekly on Thursday evenings to come together for support. Light dinner provided. Play-focused programming for children 0-6 is available for this program.

Single mom's support group: This group gives single mothers an opportunity to come together for support, relaxation, a light meal, resource referral and guest speakers. Group meets Monday evenings. CAP-C/YWCA childminding for children 0-12 is available. Group runs from September until the end of June.

Parenting and Personal Growth Workshops: A two-hour workshop that provides a variety of evidence-based psychoeducational classes for parents, children, teens and adults. The programs offered are evidence-based and designed to give everyone valuable, tangible information in a fun and interactive format. The program has individual courses for parenting children aged, teens and anger management for men.

The CAPC program is designed to provide play-focused groups for children while parents attend adult-based educational and support groups. The program provides children with the opportunity to develop social, language, large and small motor skills and communication skills through structured and free play activities.
