The Community Garden program provides garden plots to members in the community.
The New Westminster Community Gardening Society has gardens in three different locations on City of New Westminster property. Each garden is divided into a number of plots. The plots are assigned to individual members, local groups or designated for communal use by all members.
The gardens are located at:
- Simcoe Community Garden (Royal Avenue & 8th Street)
- St. Mary’s Park Community Garden (85 Merivale Street)
- City Hall Community Garden (511 Royal Avenue)
Members can grow and harvest a variety of vegetables, fruit, berries and herbs. Vegetables are donated through partnerships with local charities. Visitors are welcome to view the gardens.
The annual membership fee is currently $25. Becoming a member allows you to join the society and puts you on the waiting list to receive a plot. Once a plot is offered and accepted the annual $25 plot fee will become due and is payable. If you are interested in joining the society and taking over a plot, please check out the membership page.
