Settlement and Integration Program
Immigrant and Refugee Services
Provided by DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society (DCRS)
- Guidance in navigating local systems such as housing, health care, public school, recreation services, language services and employment
- Provide information, resources and workshops on topics related to life in Canada including individual rights.
- Assistance with filling out government applications such as citizenship application, Canada Child Benefit and income assistance.
- Connections to free programs and services including employment programs, job search help, English languages services, children & family programs, youth programs, mental health, counselling, seniors services, LGBTQ+, volunteering, food support, digital supports and more!
- Support in building community connections and making new friends
- Ongoing communication and emotional support
Newcomer Settlement Services are for:
- Permanent residents including refugees and protected persons, funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
- Temporary residents, international students, naturalized citizens and refugee claimants, via the BC Newcomer Services Program
