Newcomer Settlement Services in Surrey, Delta, Langley, White Rock and surrounding areas.
DIVERSEcity’s free Newcomer Settlement Services support newcomers to Canada as they settle into their communities. These services help individuals and families create plans to achieve education, employment, housing, and health goals, while providing free multilingual support and information to help build a strong foundation for life in Canada.
Services provided include:
- Guidance in navigating local systems such as housing, health care, public school, recreation services, language services and employment
- Provide information, resources and workshops on topics related to life in Canada including individual rights.
- Assistance with filling out government applications such as citizenship application, Canada Child Benefit and income assistance.
- Connections to free programs and services including employment programs, job search help, English languages services, children & family programs, youth programs, mental health, counselling, seniors services, LGBTQ+, volunteering, food support, digital supports and more!
- Support in building community connections and making new friends
- Ongoing communication and emotional support
Newcomer Settlement Services are for:
- Permanent residents including refugees and protected persons, funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
- Temporary residents, international students, naturalized citizens and refugee claimants, via the BC Newcomer Services Program
