- Casting and Splinting: Our team fabricates custom casts and splints to correctively maintain arms/legs in a certain position and/or to help children overcome activity limitations, such as difficulties with standing and walking. As children grow and change, our team creates new customized casts/splints to support their development- these can need replacement every few weeks/months depending on the child’s individual progress.
- Childcare and Preschool: Inclusive, play-based programs that promote holistic learning and development for children of all abilities.
- Communication Therapy: Our speech-language pathologists work with families and caregivers to help children maximize their communication skills and ability to participate in family life, preschool and peer relationships. We help with a range of abilities from general delays to cerebral palsy, Autism and Down Syndrome.
- Early Years Program: In collaboration with Sources Infant Development Program, the Early Years team provides free, family-focused services and support to children 0 – 6 years old and their families in Surrey. No appointment, registration, or referral is needed.
- Eating Skills: Our team works with families of children whose feeding safety/nutrition is compromised due to developmental disabilities. The team includes a developmental pediatrician, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, and dietician. Pediatrician referral is required.
- Equipment Team: Our team helps customize children’s mobility devices to make the most of each child’s unique mobility needs so they can fully participate at home, school, and in the community.
- Family Services: Provides help with access emergency services, apply for service and/or funding; training and support on how to advocate for your child; support groups and help coping with family distress; connect with appropriate community resources.
- Key Worker: Key workers provide family-centered support services for children assessed and diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and related conditions.
- Occupational Therapy Department: Our occupational therapists work with families and caregivers to help children and youth maximize their fine motor control and ability to function at home, school and in their community. We help with a range of abilities from fine motor delays to cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscle disease or orthopedic conditions.
- Physiotherapy Department: Our physiotherapists work with families and caregivers to help children and youth maximize their gross motor potential to be as independent as possible in all environments. We help with a range of abilities from clumsiness or coordination challenges and gross motor delays to cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscle disease or orthopedic conditions.
- Psychology: Our team of psychologists and parent support workers help children living in Surrey with a developmental disability and a significant behavioural or mental health condition. Provides help with behavioural concern consultation/assistance; counselling for children, youth, families; services to help caregivers improve children’s daily living skills (toilet training, sleep support); support groups for families and siblings.
- Recreation Therapy Services: Our recreation therapy staff provide services that promote recreation participation. Our unique therapeutic pool is equipped to enable easy access for all ability levels. We help with a range of abilities from clumsiness or coordination challenges and gross motor delays to cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscle disease or orthopedic conditions.
- Sophie's Place: Our collaborative team of police, victim services workers, and social workers support victims of abuse in a safe and compassionate environment, reducing trauma while fostering trust, healing, and resilience.
- Supported Child Development: Provides help with individual planning to support each child’s development including referrals for other services; training, information, and resources for caregivers and childcare providers; additional support as needed to ensure children’s full participation with peers.
