A service that supports adults experiencing mental health and substance use concerns who require urgent care, but do not require hospitalization.
Who is Served & What is Offered?
The Urgent Care Response Centre (UCRC) supports adults aged 19 or older who are experiencing mental health and substance use concerns and are seeking timely help without needing hospital care. The centre provides timely access to community-based support tailored to individual needs.
What to Expect
Clients can expect:
- Brief assessment conducted by a Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician
- Specific treatment plan
- Crisis support
- Psychiatric consultation for medication options, when clinically indicated
- Short-term counselling
- Connection to community-based services
- Opiate agonist therapy during evening (after 4:30 PM) and weekend hours (Surrey location only)
Note. Psychiatry appointments are provided based on clinical need and urgency and may involve a wait depending on severity of illness.

This service is available to individuals (aged 19+ years) with mental health and substance use concerns
Referral Information
Clients can self-refer by calling or walking-in to any Urgent Care Response Centre. Referrals from family members, family physicians, hospitals and other health care providers are also accepted.
It is recommended that referring parties call ahead and speak with the client care coordinator to arrange timely follow up to address an individual's needs.

Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM / Weekends & Statutory Holidays, 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM

Hours of Operation: Monday to Sunday, 8:30 AM - 8:30 PM (Including statutory holidays)

- Connection to community-based services
Public transportation (Bus and SkyTrain) available. Limited pay parking
available. Pay parking at the Wellness Centre can be accessed via Allen
St.

Details: Clients are welcome to self-refer and do not need a referral from another care provider. Also accept referrals from family members, family physicians, hospitals and other health care providers.
