Child and Youth Mental Health Services - North Vancouver

Provides a range of mental health assessment and treatment options to support infants, children and youth aged 0-18 years experiencing mental health challenges related to their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Provide specialized mental health treatment to children and youth (ages 0 –18) and their families who are experiencing mental health symptoms. The Infant Mental Health clinicians work with families and focus on the parent-child relationship and attachment. An intake clinic is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

Services include:
  • Referral and Intake Services - Screening interview, initial supports and service plan, referrals and linkages
  • Initial Services - Brief, time-limited early interventions following the intake process
  • Assessment Services - Comprehensive and holistic mental health and other specialized assessments through clinical diagnostic interview, and diagnosis
  • Therapy & Intervention Services - Treatment plan, individual, family or group psychotherapeutic interventions

Concerns most commonly addressed include: anxiety, depression, severe behaviour problems, psychosis and complex mental concerns.

The mental health team may include: counsellors, physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers. Each team is unique, with a mix of staff and services tailored to the needs of each community and population.

Referral options:

Details: Children, youth, and families can call the main office to request a CYMH Intake. Intake paperwork and questionnaire will be sent electronically to the family. Once paperwork is completed and returned, a CYMH Clinician will contact the youth/family to complete the intake for CYMH or refer to another appropriate resource.
