Provided by New West Family Place

Provides drop-in programs for parents and their children aged 0 to 6.
The following programs are offered;
  • Nobody’s Perfect Program: A facilitated parenting program for parents of children from birth to age five. The program is designed to meet the needs of parents who are young, single, socially or geographically isolated, or who have low income or limited formal education offered in communities by facilitators to help support parents and young children. The goal of Nobody’s Perfect is to improve participants’ capabilities to maintain and promote the health of their zero- to five-year-old children.
  • Circle of Security: This program helps parents understand their child’s emotional world. The program will teach parents to learn to read their child’s emotional needs, support their child to successfully manage emotions, and enhance their child’s self-esteem. The group meets online every Sunday from 19:30 to 11:00 AM. Click here for more information.
  • Positive Discipline in Everyday Parenting: a free 9-week course designed to help parents teach children effectively while respecting their rights. This gentle, non-violent approach to parenting fosters healthy child development and strengthens parent-child relationships.
  • Thrive Together Playgroup: A weekly playgroup designed to create a welcoming and inclusive space for caregivers and children with additional support needs. It supports neurodivergent children, those experiencing developmental delays, or navigating unique challenges, with or without a diagnosis, fostering connection, play, and growth. The group meets every Thursday from 12:30 to 2:30 pm at Family Place Quayside. Please note, this is a pre-registered program, not a drop-in. You will need to register each week to reserve your spot.
