Child and Youth with Support Needs

Helps children and youth with support needs, develop social skills, build relationships and improve independent living skills through participation in community activities.
The Children and Youth with Support Needs program helps build life and social skills through activity based learning, socialization and community interaction. They also provide service to support needs youth transitioning into adult services. Programs include:
  • One to one Services (6-18 years old): Goal focused services for up to 1 year. Generally once a week for up to 3 hours a session.
  • Transition Group Teens (15-18 years old): Building life and social skills through talk and peer support. Dinner is provided. Available alternating Fridays 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
  • Teen Group Youth (15-18 years old): Practicing social and life skills through games and activities. Dinner is provided. Available alternating Tuesdays from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
  • Active Group Children (12-15 years old): Learning social and life skills through game and activities. Dinner is provided. Available alternating Fridays 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
  • Kids Group Children (6-13 years old): Learning social and life skills through games and activities. A light meal is provided. Available alternating Tuesdays 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Children and youth with support needs who live in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows are eligible for one to one or group services. A referral from the Ministry of Children and Family Development – Children and Youth Support Needs is required.
