Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre

Provided by Fraser Health

A provincial mental health facility that provides services for young people struggling with severe and enduring mental health challenges.
Provides residential, non-residential and outreach services to support troubled youth who have significant psychiatric and behavioural difficulties. Many of the teens who join the program have never had a positive experience with school because of behavioural difficulties or mood disorders. The primary focus is on young people 12 to 17 years old, although select programs serve children under the age of 12.

The program helps youth manage school, work, health, peer relationships, and family life; builds understanding about the teen’s life and offers strategies for solving problems that may come up.

All programs and services include:
  • Participation from family members, caregivers and other health or education professionals involved in each child or teen’s life Help and support from a team of social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and counsellors
  • Each program provides a supportive environment where the teen has time and space for their thoughts, emotions and behaviour to stabilize. When they're ready, the team works with them to start planning long-term goals

Maples receives referrals from:
  • Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH)
  • Indigenous Child and Youth Mental Health (ICYMH)
